Hello everyone, The email below came to me through PLAN Vancouver as an inquiry that they received. I am sharing it with you in case you know of anyone with an intellectual disability who is running their own small business and is interested in being included in this directory. It sounds like a good idea. Please forward to your own connections.

Name: Megan MacBrideMessage: Hello,
My name is Megan MacBride and I am the summer intern at the Community Association of People for REAL Enterprise. CAPRE is an organization that supports people with intellectual special needs as they operate their own small businesses. You can find more information at . CAPRE was started for similar reasons as your organization; with the question of \"what will happen to my child when I am gone\" and with the hope that individuals living with cognitive disabilities can be a part of the community through business.
Part of my job this summer is to create a business directory of entrepreneurs all over the world who are running businesses while living with intellectual disabilities. I was hoping that you may know of some businesses, people, or organizations that may be applicable to this project. I would love to get in touch with as many people as possible.
It would be my hope that this directory would serve as a useful resource to CAPRE in further developing its capacity to support individuals with intellectual disabilities in realizing their personal potential through social enterprise.
I hope this project is of some interest and I look forward to hearing from you!

Hi Ron - It is really great that you have provided so much of the technical and background information of the working that you are doing. Thanks for that! I am curious about the day-to-day work. Is there something that we could discuss here about what it means in a practical level? I am specifically interested in learning about the individual stories that you have been a part of through your microenterprise. Are there some things that have worked really well?? What about the challenges and the barriers that you have faced? Thanks again for starting this group. In the organization that I work with, there are a few micro projects on the go ... I am contuing to think if there is something that I am close enough to that I can share about it here. Not quite sure yet ... but this is definitely an area of interest for me. Becki
