Disability Rights - Dec. 3 - International Day of Persons with Disabilities

This week makes special recognition of persons with disabilities and their rights. Given that your school has or is initiating a PlayFair Team, I thought the following might be of interest to you. Perhaps your school could join in the recognition by letting your students and teachers know of the two following items. Both deal with playing fair.
Saturday, December 3 is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The thought for the day is "Together for a better world for all: Including persons with disabilities in development.

Canada has signed and ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Article 24 of the Convention begins, "States Parties recognize the right of persons with disabilities to education with a view to realizing this right without discrimination and on the basis of equal opportunity. States Parties shall ensure an inclusive education and lifelong learning.
