FOR: Need Renewal? Need new connections?

This is for people who choose to invest themselves in creating and being the change they want to see in the world. People working actively on the complex issues of inclusion and diversity in families, communities, workplaces and schools will be attending. This Institute is for Thinkers and Doers - for people who know there are no easy answers and who are seeking new ways of thinking and acting. This is a never ending unique creative adventure in building a learning community together. The hosts see themselves as a jazz ensemble who have a definite theme and a flair for improvisation - harmonizing with the participants.

WHERE: Pitman Hall - Ryerson University - downtown Toronto

Ryerson University is in the heart of downtown Toronto, one of the most multicultural cities in the world - rich in diversity, social activism, and culture. We know you will enjoy the Institute, and all that Toronto offers: great food, great theatre, jazz, the Toronto Islands (great roller-blading and walking), an incredible array of affordable restaurants, the Blue Jays, the Raptors, the people. Eat your way through the city. Enjoy!

Guarantees are hard to come by, but if you show up, be present, tell the truth and let go of preconceived luggage, you could leave with:

• a network of new colleagues and friends

• knowledge, skills and approaches to change

• a deepened understanding of the foundational values of inclusion

• an introduction to innovations in framing questions & facilitation in person centred processes.

• an introduction to Asset Based Community Development and community mapping

• an opportunity to explore creative arts and expression

OUR AIM:  is that we all celebrate our learning together and leave:

• renewed • refreshed • re-energized • to continue our work

Where do I begin ? I can't emphasize this enough...I needed to be there. It was timely for me personally and professionally. Being married for 23 years, raising 5 children, nursing for 26 years, 7…Continue

Although I can only join you all for one day, Tuesday, I am so looking forward to it. I have been trying to attend the Institute since it was housed at McGill and then after it moved to Toronto, but I could never schedule that much time away from family in the summer and/or afford the trip. I managed to encourage many others to attend and felt like I was there vicariously. But this time I will not just be there in spirit! We are in Canada (Prince Edward County) and I can come for the day. See you all soon.

Hello be honest, I have no true idea of what we will be getting into next week...but I have found that the times that I don't have expectations, the most amazing things occur. Looking forward to amazing! Blessings all.

I thought I would start putting myself into the Open Space. Rumour has it that there will be art, in different forms, every afternoon, Monday to Wednesday. I will bring a Laser Eagles flavour (facilitated art making) to each event. You can try tracking, or being facilitated, or just watch!

At other times I will host readings from my two blogs - "Ahh, But That's Another Story"- about the contributions of people who are labeled disabled and poor, and "World Peace Through Inclusive Transformation". These will be open to all, of course.

I also want to have my PATH done one evening. I need a graphic recorder, process facilitator, and lots of attenders. Please join me!
