Please share something about yourself, your work, and what draws you to the Inclusion Network online community.
I am a parent of a 24 year amazing young lady with down syndrome. I work at Woodgreen Community Sevices in the developmental services unit. I also run a parent group looking to find some answers into the housing delema for our young and some not so young adults. I believe everyone has the right to live where they want, who they want to live with and be part of their community
What would you like to contribute to this community? What would you like to receive?
Throught the work of Scarborough Residential Alternatives we have learned a lot over the past 4 years. We have 6 individuals now living on their own with the support they need
How did you hear about this community?
I attended the DSTO two day workshop on Person Centered Plans and recieved the information from the workshop.
What are some of the questions you'd like to explore, or conversations you'd like to have with others in this community?
Have others managed to find affordable housing for their children? How have they managed to pay for the support staff? Also advocating for rights and fudnings.
