Hi Connie, I sure missed you all this summer. Still doing the work here in Grand Rapids MI, though. I think the next level we need to go to is the Group Person-Centered Planning process that you and Beth developed. What resource would you recommend to get a good foundation for proceeding?
Also, has the new MAPS / PATH book been changed very much from when I took the workshop last fall? Debating whether to get the final or just keep my marked up draft.
Connie: It's good to find you and John O'Brien again. Thanks for all your support during my early career years, and best to you in your continuing work. I wish you and John were around to get input on the two books I wrote after I left Syracuse University - Policy, program evaluation and research in disability and Personnel preparation in disability and community life. I have another community disability studies book in process from 4 years ago, but not sure if I want it finished and published. So much has changed since those times!! Julie Ann Racino
Thanks for accepting my friend request. I am looking forward to hearing you and John speak later this month in Adelaide at the Convention Centre. I bet you are both feeling exhausted! I appreciate you both taking the time out to share your knowledge and experiences with us in Little old Adelaide.
See you then,
Can i add you to my friend list? I'm really interested in meeting with you especially if you are in Scotland. I would like to 'pick yo brain' on person centred planning and the experiences in America/ Canada.
Leave U.S today
visited families at LOV Dane in Michigan, Broadway at Indiannapolos and Holly and the Federated coop in Phoeneix
all very worthwhile
When I stayled with you in Georgia, you introduced me to Laurie King,

Looking forward to seeing you in Australia
Connie's Tip: "IF YOU SPEAK MORE...SPEAK LESS AND IF YOU SPEAK LESS...SPEAK MORE".
In a session I attended at TSI09, someone referenced Connie with this tip she gives at the opening of a meeting, circle discussion, whatever...to help with open dialogue and group participation. It seemed too simple, until I used it as a "guideline" recently with a small group...and it brought different results and balanced participation!
Ah! That would be great...just finalised my flight booking last night so raring to go...Steve was saying that you've had a few dealings with immigration! Hope that all goes smoothly...
I was so sorry to miss the Summer Institute...I was really looking forward to getting the opportunity to talk to you about the work you're doing and the stuff that Steve and I have been up to with The Big Plan...I hope there will be another opportunity.
In the meantime...thanks for the notes you posted here...enjoyed reading them...lots of food for thought...
