I am a Motivational Speaker....
If anyone knows an opportunities where l can speak at any evants please
feel free to let me know please.
What would you like to contribute to this community? What would you like to receive?
I was born in Jamaica, at the age of 15 months l got sick with Spinal Meningitis. The right side of me is affected from the meningitis, l walk with a cane. I came here when l was 11 years old. Growing up in Canada gave me the chance to live.
I grew up with 3 siblings, my parents treated me like the other three. I had to learn how to do everything. My parents told me that once l grew up they need me to be indepentent.....l am glad that they gave me that choice to do so.
It very amusing that when people look at me they ask me who looks after me....and when l say l do they are amazed at my answer. For the longest time when anyone was with me people would talk to the person l was with instead of talking directly to me.
Until l told who was with me to stop answering for me, that l had a mouth or told that person l had a mouth and that l can talk for myself.
How did you hear about this community?
A Pastor of the Abilities Church told me about it
What are some of the questions you'd like to explore, or conversations you'd like to have with others in this community?
I am just looking for now.
I am looking for exsopore for my Motivational. I would like to let people know that there is more to a disabled person then just there disability.

You Can't Judge A Book By It's Cover

Have you ever looked at a person and made the wrong judgement of that person?

Madam toastmaster, fellow toastmasters and welcomed guests, it has been said that "you can't judge a book by it's cover."  Yet often when people look at me they make a bold prejudgement.  From just one glance they think they know what I'm capable of.…

Wow! You have a powerful story! I would love to hear it someday. I hope you feel welcomed on this site. Did you ever have the chance to go to the Toronto Summer Institute on Inclusion? It was a very transformational conference for me. I highly recommend it and hope to return this summer.

Welcome Jacqueline.
We hope you find some useful discussions, groups and connections through our network site. I have 'approved' two of your photos, but unless the others are very different or have a specific story - we are attempting to keep space for everyone to be able to share.

Welcome aboard.
