60+ with Spina Bifida + 2 bouts of cancer. Now on long term disability. I have a service dog (Cary), and use a wheelchair full-time (slowly transitioning from manual to power chair).
What would you like to contribute to this community? What would you like to receive?

And, what is neat, i now have time to provide the wisdom (?) garnered from my experience if it could be helpful. BA.(Carleton) BEd.(Queen's)', 30+ years employment (both contract and full-time) as a technical writer (software/hardware, user/support/service, web/online/print) participating in small and large projects.

Pure chance! Was looking up Judy Snow to see if she remembers me from her childhood (if she is the correct person)
What are some of the questions you'd like to explore, or conversations you'd like to have with others in this community?
* financial planning for the disabled. What additional issues should be addressed in the plan. Are there stats for life expectancy for Spina Bifida, spinal cord injured, or disabled?
* transitioning and planning for one's retirement years. physical (muscle deterioration, additional medical issues,additional assistive devices, etc.) mental (forgetfulness, depression, changing support, passing away of family etc. ), care and support (personal care and home care into assisted living facilities into full care facilities.
