Please share something about yourself, your work, and what draws you to the Inclusion Network online community.
I am Chair of a small organisation in the U.K. which supports sixty people to live the lives they choose. We have been operating for eleven years. Person centred planning is at the heart of everything we do. The people we support live independently, work, marry and lead normal lives, but are constantly under threat of financial cutbacks and restrictions. The Inclusion Network is a means of exchanging information with like minded individuals and support organisations and being part of a greater voice.
What would you like to contribute to this community? What would you like to receive?
I would like to be in contact with others who are engaged in the daily battle to support individuals to live independently in the face of government cutbacks, financial restrictions and lack of parity in the way people are able to access resources.
How did you hear about this community?
When I trained with Circles Network in 2000.
What are some of the questions you'd like to explore, or conversations you'd like to have with others in this community?
How the global downturn is affecting other individuals and organisations.
Sharing success stories.
Hello Rowena! Welcome to the Online Inclusion Network and thanks for sharing a bit about your self and the work that you are engaged in. The themes of supporting people through government cut-backs and financial restrictions seems to be very prevalant these days .It would be good to get some great dialougue started here on the network. I think that there are many people here who are likely facing the same realities and that we should begin to collaborate and share ideas. If there are specific things on your mind, or a conversation that you could get started, please share in the Forum here on the network. Thanks for being here! Becki
