I have altered my diary-writing habits (or lack thereof, at times) into keeping a 'gratitude journal'. At the end of each day I write down what I am grateful for that day. I am not religious, so it is really good to have a way to offer thanks and express gladness. I've been doing this for a few months, and I think I wake feeling more positive because of this focus at the end of the previous day.
