Roving Listening - DeAmon Harges - a powerful way to discover your community

Those who have met DeAmon Harges are very fortunate - so they do not need anything but a gentle reminder to recall the incredible gifts of DeAmon as a "roving listener".  This approach (developed by DeAmon) is conversational community organizing - and has enormous power and capacity.

If you don't know about it yet - it would be a great time to invite DeAmon for a visit.

Autism, Albi Taylor, Gluten Free - and the Woman in the Wardobe

We were just at the Scottish Institute in West Kilbride, and among the wonderful encounters, we met Albi Taylor - who told us the back story about her son Jack - who we had been 'hanging with' for three days.  (He is a delightful and seriously talented teenager).  Albi was driving us to the Glasgow rail station, telling her story. We literally stopped the car and said:  "Tell it again" - and we turned on the camera.  It is a total of 21 minutes - and Albi says you need to see it all, and she…

Universal Design - the Future

There are many strange anomalies in life where 'policy' and 'design' make huge differences  - but because they are often 'invisible' we forget to notice.  But what if.. what if the POLICY was that buildings, offices, homes, equipment, cars, street cars, trains, planes - electronic devices, cooking appliances (you get the picture)... what if the POLICY was that UNIVERSAL design was a requirement - for everything starting Now - or at least by 2012.  ALL the arguments and debates about unfair…
