Although Linda Love is a fashion artist known all over the world, her gifts and love for her craft are noticeable here in her home town. Her dream was to open a sewing school here in Cincin- nati to teach and spread her exuberance for clothing.

Linda Love’s mother, Minnie Loopes Jones, was a highly respected seamstress who taught Linda how to sew when she was young. Linda exercised her talents early, making dresses for her dolls by the age of five. She has received many awards for her creative fashion and one of kind gar- ments and designed several costumes for Cincinnati’s own Bootsy Collins.

She has recently launched sewing classes in Roselawn at 7710 Reading Road. Part of Linda’s motivation for this endeavor was to provide an opportunity for younger folks to explore and learn about things related to fashion design and production—from sewing to marketing.

One local Roselawn community member, Lekirsha McCall has been a frequent visitor and an early enrollee at Love’s studio. She has been thrilled with the practical experience, creative outlet and the personal relationships she has found there. Fashion trends often change but Ms. Love’s commitment and passion for her work remain a constant that is being made available to all who wish to share it.
