American Society for Public Administration, International Assembly, Met in Denver in March 2018

International Assembly of the American Society for Public Administration met in Denver, Colorado, USA, in March 2018. The theme was the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations

Allan Rosenbaum, Past-President of ASPA and International Leadership, hosted a panel discussion which highlighted the UN development programmes in the world. In addition, Allan discussed ways to include the SDGs in university courses, and urges ASPA members to be aware of the goals on institutions, peace and justice.

In attendance was Julie Ann Racino of Inclusion Network who thanked the UN for the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN ENABLE, 2006) and the critical framework of housing, employment, education, and recreation which is embedded within the UN Treaty.

The SDGs can also form the basis for research in our international public administration fields in the coming decades. ASPA's new President Jane Pisano and current President Janice LaChance spoke at the event.
