We Were Children - the story of Residential Schools in Canada

A brilliant film that peels the hidden and grotesque truth of how our 'dominant' culture attempted genocide on Aboriginal Canadians - and failed.  Two survivor stories are told with grace and clarity.  A must watch.

thanks Glenn.  And you are so right.. so many more stories to be told..

and it is important that we make spaces to actually hear them...

I enjoyed being part of this story and playing the part of the grandfather for Lyna Heart. This is just the beginning of many more truths and stories to be told. You will hear someday how many tried to escape the abductions of the children by the Indian agents and RCMP by running away to the traplines and other places so that they would never be found. I would love to share some of these stories in the future with those who I see at the TSI this summer.
